Interaction Design with Prof. Dinesh Abhiram.

Session-1

So today I have learned a new aspect of design field that is Interaction Design, which is completely beyond the digital interaction here it helps to create physical products and explore them with different thoughts. This field of design helps a lot for experimenting with new and innovative creations around us which expresses today's lifestyle. As per the class discussion, Dieter Ram and his 10 principles for good design briefs that how products can be designed in a sustainable way with innovation in it. Revision visit on sir’s previous class about Bauhaus School of Design and Ulm School of Design, were sir mentioned that whenever we get an opportunity we should pay a visit and if we are planning for a research, then this is a great place to go as the School of Germany is very welcoming and with this I got to know how interaction design is important in our daily life.

Session-2

In this session we focused on anecdote, which is a story based on personal experience. Sir showed “Travel Through South Indian Kitchen” written by Nao Saito and we also watched a video recommended by sir was Home Pod — Welcome Home by Spike Jonze — Apple It is mostly a cook book but also includes anecdotal recordings. Then sir gave us an assignment to do before returning to the class, making an anecdotal map of our house and mentioning different memories from different places in our house.

Session-3

In this class we watched some videos which was recommended by sir which was the FBI agent Hasan Elahi’s TED in which we watched hoe this is done frequently in America, where people follow Islamic culture or have Islamic names are considered suspects and how he began working on a project following an encounter with an FBI agent at an airport where they came to had come to verify information about him. He has created a website which highlights his daily activity and how he keeps the FBI up to date by posting images of everything he does. This made me alert about how our privacy is at ricks.

Then sir gave us the another version of anecdotal map to show how much time we spend in different parts of our house.

Session-4

In this session we discussed all about futuristic designs and sir recommended us some movies like A Clockwork Orange and Minority Report, in which Tom Cruise controls a screen in the air and with his both hands. Then we also discussed about many technology such as Google AR Glass.

Then sir gave us an assignment on home renovation project. Keeping our previous work in mind, we need to create a device or something else with best and enhanced technology.

Session-5

This was our last session in this class sir elaborately said us about interaction design and all the benefits in it.

This was an interesting and educational and knowledgeable module.
